Jonathan Thompson is the Asst. Men’s Basketball Coach for Averett University. He is the advocate for Big Brothers Big Sisters in Averett Athletics. The volunteer has acted as a Big Brother for over two years. He faithfully and consistently goes to visit his “little” at his school. He has great leadership skills. The volunteer is concerned about volunteerism and BBBS. He follows up with the team members to make sure that they are signed up, mentoring, and visiting the children in school as well. Last but definitely not least, he takes the time out to be there for his little.
The little, Elijah Noble, has been in the program for two years. He enjoys being involved with BBBS and the Averett Athletes. The child has the benefit of having the coach for a Big. Before each visit from his Big, he is always excited. Elijah also loves sports. He now has someone to talk to about his passion of sports. The volunteer encourages him to do his best in school and in his community.
