On September 29th, 2016, seven children and two chaperones of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Danville Area traveled to the Virginia Statewide Neighborhood Conference held in Arlington, VA. The children attended the Youth Café discussing Business Ownership and attended a Mock Court Trial. They also took a Riverboat Tour on the Potomac River with Jazz music and a Cajun dinner; viewed the Arlington National Cemetery; and toured the 911 Memorial and the Pentagon. On Sunday, they took a riding tour into Washington D.C., viewed the U.S. Capital, and the Smithsonian exhibits such as the Air and Space and African American. The youth were also privileged to see the Washington Monument, Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, and the Lincoln Memorial. Thanks to the City of Danville for making this trip possible.
