Big Brothers Big Sisters of Danville Area, The Salvation Army of Danville, Virginia, Danville Church & Community Tutorial Program, and Boys & Girls Clubs of the Danville Area took a trip to Washington DC July 18-19. There were 51 in total who visited DC, 17 of which were from BBBS. Everyone visited Blackburn Hall at Howard University to see the School of Social Work where they learned about admissions, financial aid, and school programs. Later, they went on a riding tour of Washington DC and ate dinner at Ben's Chili Bowl where they met the owner, Ms. Virginia Ali. The next day, they ate breakfast at the hotel, and toured the sights of DC: the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, and the African American Museum of Art.
