From October 3 to December 1st, TJ Davis State Farm of Danville, VA in partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Danville Area held a shoe drive called, “”. Shoes were donated from all over the Danville-Pittsylvania County and dropped off at the State Farm office. On Saturday, December 3rd, 60 pairs of shoes were given to children at the Annual Christmas Pancake Breakfast for the littles in the program. An added bonus of socks was also given by Optima Health/ Andy Strader. Special thanks to Dr. Geoffrey Johnson, Marie Young, Calvary Baptist Church Holbrook St., and Riverside Health and Rehabilitation for their gifts towards the shoe drive. 2024 Regional Scripps Spelling Bee
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Danville Area held the Regional Spelling Bee at Averett University, Blount Chapel, on Saturday, March 16, 2024. Dante Pauley from Tunstall Middle School emerged as the winner. The winning word was toploftical, which means very superior in air or attitude. The winner is able to compete in the National Spelling Bee in National Harbor, Maryland May 26-31.

Big Brothers Big Sisters at Capitol Hill
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Danville Area CEO Pat Daniel attended BBBS at Capitol Hill Day in Washington DC on February 28, 2024. 115 BBBS agency leaders from 91 agencies from 31 states were in attendance as well as local BBBS affiliate CEO's, National Staff, and BBBS Board of Directors members.
