Charmine Dickerson was matched with her “little” Shakia for four years. Every month, our Match Support team would hear stories of how they went out to eat. Other times, they went to get their nails done and shopping for hair products. Mrs. Dickerson brought her little to many of the agency’s annual activities. Such as the Annual Picnic and the Pancake Breakfast at the Danville Regional Medical Center. Charmine was so involved that she encouraged her husband to volunteer. This “Big in Blue” was a caring, but firm “Big” sister.
Former Deputy Charmine had the expectation of being a great loving parent to Cheyanna. However, before she had the chance to enjoy motherhood, she passed away. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Danville Area appreciates the time that Deputy Charmine Dickerson, formerly of the Danville Sherriff’s Department gave to us as a “Big in Blue”.
