Littles Attend Spring Event

On Monday, March 21, a few littles of Big Brothers Big Sisters attended a Spring Event held at the Mt. Hermon Baptist Church. Joe Nicholson and members of the Willing Servants Sunday School Class hosted the event.  The kids enjoyed an Easter Egg Hunt and Pizza Party. Joe  presented “The Real Meaning of Easter.”

Trevor West is a graduating senior at Averett University. He has been a member of the Men’s Basketball Team for four years. Most important, he has been a dedicated volunteer all that time. Littles Enjoy Yoga Class

On Monday, February 8, 2016, eight girls of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Danville Area attended a Yoga Class hosted by The Junior Wednesday Club. The class was held at the United Way in the Large Conference Room. A certified Yoga Instructor walked the youth through the steps of the program. Each child was given a healthy eating sheet and a yoga mat. The evening ended with a delicious healthy meal.

Todd Fitts has participated in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program for several years. He mentored several youth in the in-school program where he was introduced to his little, Chad Hill. BBBS of Danville Area Receives Certificate of Recognition for January’s “Mentoring Month”

On Tuesday, February 2, 2016, Mayor Sherman M. Saunders of the Council Chamber presented Big Brothers Big Sisters of Danville Area with a Certificate of Recognition for January’s “Mentoring Month”. Littles Treated to Manicures & Dinner
