Group from BBBS Danville Area Takes Cherry Blossom Tour in D.C.

On April 4, 2015, 20 people from The Big Brothers Big Sisters of Danville Area went on the Cherry Blossom Tour to Washington D.C., which was organized by the Pittsylvania Co. Parks and Recreation. Everyone departed from Kmart’s parking lot at 7:00 am to Lynchburg, VA, and from there boarded the train for Washington D.C. On the train there was food, snacks, sight-seeing, and activities. 2015 Spelling Bee

On Saturday, March 21st, 2015 was the local Spelling Bee held at Blount Chapel of Averett University of Danville, VA. From 17 contestants, Caleb Adams, son of Ann and Randy Adams, emerged as the winner. Caleb attends Westwood Middle School.
