Healthy Kids Workshop 2015

On February 23, 2015 Big Brothers Big Sisters had a Healthy Kids Workshop encouraging daily exercise and healthy eating. We would like to thank Ciji and Stephanie from Get Fit Dan River Region, for taking the time out to burn those calories with our little’s. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Danville Area Travels to Petersburg & Richmond

On Sunday, January 25th, 35 people, including Bigs and other volunteers traveled to Petersburg, VA where they toured the Virginia State University’s Campus. On Monday, January 26th there was another tour of the Virginia State Capital Building in Richmond, VA. There, a tour guide led everyone through the historical building and spoke about the symbolism of certain rooms. Christmas Pancake Breakfast a Success!

This past Saturday was our annual Christmas Pancake Breakfast and it was a success! A delightful breakfast was served, book bags, fruit bags, gift cards and BBBS sweatshirts were given to the children. They also participated in holiday crafts as well as games like “Four Square” and “Hot Potato”; while some volunteers and staff joined in as well. BBBS will be participating in the “Decorate A Tree For A Cause”. Numerous trees funded and decorated by certified charitable organizations are now on display.
