On Saturday, February 18, BBBS of Danville Area CEO Pat Daniel, Board Member and Sheriff Mondul, and Littles Davian and Caliyah attended the One Team One Dream gala. The black tie affair highlighted the lives of the Edmund brothers and the charities they support. Keynote speaker was Bud Foster, former Defensive Coach for VT. On Saturday, February 11, Danville Museum of Fine Arts and History hosted the Storytelling Festival, an annual Black History event. Pictured in the first photo is Fred Motley, a presenter and sponsor. Pictured in the second photo are Big Sheila Williamson-Branch and her Little Caliyah.
One of our Littles, Marquarius Ferrell, is on a Marching Band Trip for GWHS to Orlando, Florida. He left Wednesday and will be returning Sunday. So far, he's visited Universal Theme Park and Disney World.
BBBS of Danville Area held its inaugural BBBS Hall of Fame 2022 Luncheon on Tues, Dec 13 at Southside Community Learning Center, DRHA. The luncheon included the keynote speaker, Mayor Alonzo Jones. 10 people who made significant contributions to BBBS of Danville Area were recognized. Dr. Edward White, Arlene Creasy, Sheriff Michael Mondul, Sander Wingate, Curtis Carrington, Tanya Hilliard, Dr. Angela Hairston, John Gilstrap, John Moody, and Founder Judge Spiros Skendaris. Saturday, Dec 3, BBBS and SOVAH Health held the Annual Pancake Breakfast. Attendees were Bigs, Littles, family members, parents, and volunteers. Special guest Janeen Edmunds provided music. Special thanks to SOVAH hospital executives and staff for their assistance. We look forward to next year's event.
It was Signing Day on Friday, Nov 11 for our new Big Gary Terry, CEO of Boys and Girls Club of the Danville Area, and Little Hamir. This is the beginning of a collaborative effort, UW Operation Graduation, with Boys and Girls Club, Community, and Church Based Tutorial.
Monday, Nov 7, 11 Littles and 4 Bigs had dinner at iHop and attended the Motown Forever Concert. Tickets were donated by the Danville Concert Association. Pictured are Larissa, Little Makyla, Vera, Little Diahmyn, Sheriff Mondul, Ferrell twins, Ann Lovelace, and Ingram Littles.
Saturday Sept 24, BBBS of Danville Area held the first annual Walk or Run for Fun event. The event began at the Drop Box Parking Lot (formerly Blackwell Motor Company) and continued on Union Street Bridge.
