It was Signing Day on Friday, Nov 11 for our new Big Gary Terry, CEO of Boys and Girls Club of the Danville Area, and Little Hamir. This is the beginning of a collaborative effort, UW Operation Graduation, with Boys and Girls Club, Community, and Church Based Tutorial.
Monday, Nov 7, 11 Littles and 4 Bigs had dinner at iHop and attended the Motown Forever Concert. Tickets were donated by the Danville Concert Association. Pictured are Larissa, Little Makyla, Vera, Little Diahmyn, Sheriff Mondul, Ferrell twins, Ann Lovelace, and Ingram Littles.
Saturday Sept 24, BBBS of Danville Area held the first annual Walk or Run for Fun event. The event began at the Drop Box Parking Lot (formerly Blackwell Motor Company) and continued on Union Street Bridge.

BBBS of Danville Area Little, Cara Barrett, is a member of Dan River High School's softball team. She started playing JV in 9th grade. Cara plays on a traveling softball team locally and throughout the region. She is pictured in her uniform and going to the military ball.
Cara has been with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Danville Area for almost 10 years. Her brother started in the program first, and his sister followed in his footsteps and became part of the program.

2024 Regional Scripps Spelling Bee
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Danville Area held the Regional Spelling Bee at Averett University, Blount Chapel, on Saturday, March 16, 2024. Dante Pauley from Tunstall Middle School emerged as the winner. The winning word was toploftical, which means very superior in air or attitude. The winner is able to compete in the National Spelling Bee in National Harbor, Maryland May 26-31.

Big Brothers Big Sisters at Capitol Hill
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Danville Area CEO Pat Daniel attended BBBS at Capitol Hill Day in Washington DC on February 28, 2024. 115 BBBS agency leaders from 91 agencies from 31 states were in attendance as well as local BBBS affiliate CEO's, National Staff, and BBBS Board of Directors members.
