Averett University Tour

On Tuesday, November 3, 2015 11 youth, along with members of The Jr. Wednesday Club, visited Averett University and toured the campus. Following the tour was dinner at the Dining Hall. Then, Marquitta Graves, Associate Registrar  and Alexa Ehrhardt, Executive Director of the Center For Community Engagement and Career Competitiveness, gave the youth a presentation about the University.

The volunteer started out in the School Based program but felt she could do more by becoming a community based mentor. She focuses on introducing youth to new experiences and improving with academic and school performance. She uses her professional skills to teach the youth social skills. Littles Visit Owen Farm 2015

BBBS Youth Volunteer at Donation Station

On Saturday, September 26th,  BBBS youth volunteered at Donation Station at the Community Market. They raised money to purchase fruits and vegetables for God’s Storehouse;  at the end of the day, they collected goods from the farmers. Virginia Statewide Neighborhood Conference

On Thursday, September 24th through Friday September 25th, six youth of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Danville Area attended the Virginia Statewide Neighborhood Conference in Norfolk, VA.
